Ventura, California – Caroma, the worldwide leader in high efficiency dual flush toilets for commercial and residential use, is pleased to announce the unveiling of Working Artists Ventura (WAV), a state-of-the-art community designed for artists and creative businesses in Ventura, CA. By donating highly efficient dual flush toilets and sinks to the project, Caroma contributed to the LEED certification of the affordable living and working space. From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on April 16th, the artists of WAV will share their new creative space, recent works and how their lives have already changed since moving into the complex that features 69 affordable housing units in a 6000 square feet building. PLACE, an ethical nonprofit development organization that works to create sustainable communities, launched the WAV project as a joint venture with the City of Ventura, Ventura County and the State of California. With the goal to create LEED living and working spaces with a healthy, affordable, and sustainable community, Chris Velasco, president of PLACE, was looking for the best products in the world to be used in the project. “I have Caroma dual flush toilets in my home because of the water conservation benefits, so we were extremely pleased to receive this donation,” stated Velasco. “Besides the conservation benefits, they’re also beautiful fixtures that fit our design.”

Building a sustainable community to the highest standards of green building technology means “green” products are required. “Caroma’s water-conserving toilets can save more than 40% on water usage compared to many toilets on the market,” explains Velasco. “By installing more than 100 Caroma dual flush toilets, we will be saving hundreds of thousands of gallons of water per year...just from these toilets.”
